My Five W’s
I’ve been privileged to spend time alongside some of the most courageous individuals in uniform, both on the ground and in the air. Whether I was photographing the Golden Knights as they leaped from 13,000 feet, flying in Blackhawks to capture soldiers in training, or emceeing Leadership Panels with colonels and generals, I’ve had the rare opportunity to see courage up close. Each experience has been a reminder that courage takes many forms—whether it’s jumping into the unknown, making life-or-death decisions, or simply showing up when fear and doubt try to hold you back.
But here’s the thing: I’ve never made a jump myself. I’ve been on the plane, watched others leap, and this winter, I’ll finally take my own Leap of Courage with a small group of leaders into the Grand Canyon. That said, I’m still in awe of the courage I’ve witnessed—and often wonder what business I have talking to people who embody courage every day.
Here’s what I’ve learned: courage isn’t just about the extraordinary. It’s in the everyday moments—in the quiet decision to keep going, in the resolve to act even when the path ahead isn’t clear. Courage is a skill, not a trait, and my mission is to help people grow it. Whether you’re in uniform, behind a desk, or navigating life’s transitions, courage is at the heart of every mission.
This keynote isn’t just about teaching heroes something new. It’s about recognizing the courage you’ve always had and showing you how to use it to lead, grow, and inspire. Because, in the end, fortune truly does favor the bold.

Why?
Courage is the foundation of effective leadership, adaptability, and growth. For military members and first responders, courage is often assumed—but it’s not always nurtured. For civilians, courage can unlock innovation, trust, and success in teams and individuals alike. This keynote inspires people to see courage not as the absence of fear, but as the ability to act boldly in its presence.
Bonus Ask: If this doesn’t fit your organization, I encourage you to share it with someone in your network who serves or supports our military and first responder communities. Together, we can spread a message of boldness and resilience where it’s needed most.
